FREEDOM
The inner freedom that makes us happy in many ways depends on many things - they are different for everyone. This project examines freedom through the lens of love in its broadest sense.
The project consists of three still lifes, each inspired by a film in which the theme of freedom is revealed through love.
For Elio ("Call me by your name") it is the love of loved ones that becomes the key to freedom. Elio is a beloved son, free to be himself, free to feel, to love, to be heartbroken.
John Nash ("Beautiful Mind") is a beloved husband who needs help in the fight against his own illness.
For Carol (“Carol”), the very fact of unwanted love, accepting it, and standing up for it in front of her own family becomes an act of supreme freedom. At the same time, the choice to be free from stereotypes and the foundations of society expresses love for one's own nature.
