METROPOLI

They say that by 2030, 60% of people will live in cities. That is why it seems that the future is in the same place. But what will these cities be like, where people of completely different backgrounds and histories will move? Do they really need urban infrastructure, or is the need for unity with nature stronger and more natural for us?

At the same time, the voice of specialists is becoming more and more clearly heard, which predicts the end of the extraction of natural resources in the very near future. It is not only about oil and gas, but about the most basic resource of our life, which we do not even think about – water. If the value of water is enormous in arid countries, then we, Europeans, hardly think about the fact that water may ever run out. This is dangerous, because this moment is much closer than we think.

The Metropoli project is a dream of new cities, the hope that in the future our habitat will not destroy the nature around it, but will integrate into it and develop together with it in symbiosis. A rethinking of our presence on the planet, an appeal to ecology as the main topic with which it is time to start working seriously is a hope for the better future.

The series consists of several compositions, each represents a city of the future. Each of them contains different materials that fit seamlessly into the overall context – there is stone, metal, and plastic, which can be recycled and used wisely. This project does not call for giving up the already achieved heights in science and technology, on the contrary, it is a blessing that should be used for our happy future in cities where there will be a place for nature, man and technology.
